The May 2021 symposium at the Amity Institute of Social Sciences (Noida, India) explored the mass displacement, survival, and urban reinvention following the 1947 Partition of British India. It highlighted how refugees redefined their identities and built new lives across South Asia.The symposium, titled "Lives Redefined: Partition, Refugees, and Settlement Colonies," focused on the long-term historical and social aftermath of this trauma. Aurgho Jyoti presented the Virtual Kolkata Partition Museum project highlighting the architecture with a focus on material and memory. (May 13, 2021)
