Aurgho Jyoti is an Indian architect whose work aims to create cultural significance and social relevance with a distinct interest in materiality and memory. Migration and its role in the production of space has defined his research interests. He is interested in identity and belonging explored through dichotomies of the global-local and the urban-rural condition. He was born and raised in the industrial coal and steel region of Bengal where he was trained as a visual artist before moving to Calcutta, in the year it was renamed Kolkata. It is a city that has been his source of constant inspiration. As a growing child, his travels across India with his parents fueled his cultural curiosity and a deep acknowledgment of history.

As the Founder and Creative Director of AUR he orchestrates the design vision of all AUR projects globally - from early conception to developing design detail. He previously worked as a Project Lead and Senior Architect for internationally acclaimed and Pritzker Laureate offices, which include SOM, OMA/Rem Koolhaas, Gehry Technologies, Studio Fuksas, and 3Gatti Architecture Studio. He is a licensed architect in the US and India and a member of the American Institute of Architects. With a cross-cultural international experience, he has lived and worked in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Boston, Rome, Hong Kong, Shanghai, New Delhi, and Calcutta. His architecture projects include high rises, institutional, and cultural buildings spanning across the US, China, Italy, France, Georgia, Nepal, and India.

He holds an M.Des in Architecture and Technology from Harvard and an M.Arch-II in Architecture and Urbanism from Cornell as a Tata Scholar. He has conducted research on housing at MIT Media Lab. He holds a B.Arch with distinction from SPA, New Delhi. As an educator, he serves as an Instructor at the Graduate School of Architecture, Academy of Art, and has been a Teaching Assistant at Harvard and Cornell, and a Visiting Lecturer at Delhi College of Arts. He has been an Invited Guest Critic at Harvard, Cornell, UC Berkeley, Stanford, New York Institute of Technology, New York University, School of Visual Arts in New York, IE University Spain, California College of Arts, Academy of Art, University of Tennessee, Wentworth Institute of Technology, and the University of Hong Kong.

Aurgho’s works have been published and exhibited in the US, UK, Netherlands, Denmark, Spain, Italy, Austria, Turkey, and India, at venues that include, amongst others, Centre for Architecture - New York, Seattle Architecture Foundation, Heritage Museum in Astoria, Autodesk Gallery in San Francisco, Harvard University, Alliance Francaise Delhi, and India Habitat Center Delhi. Aurgho’s awards include AIA New York New Practice, ‘20 Under 35’ by Alliance Francaise Delhi, SOM Prize in Architecture Finalist, and National Finalist for Bhopal War Memorial and Ujjain Planetarium. His previous collaborations have received AIA California Merit Award, AIA San Francisco Design Award, AIA Washington Civic Design Merit Award.

Subhradip Roy is the Technical Director of AUR’s New Delhi office where he leads construction detailing and documentation, engineering and construction coordination for all projects in India. He holds a B.Arch from SPA, New Delhi, where his thesis on housing was the best thesis project of the year. He has conducted extensive research on housing over the years. He has led an individual practice for 10 years where he designed and delivered well-crafted interiors for residential, office, and commercial projects along with residences and factory buildings. His landscape experience includes landscape design for factory complexes and campuses, office buildings, and parks. His cultural projects include Buddhist Circuit projects in Sarnath and Lumbini with the World Bank, and public projects include the Central Park in Namchi, Sikkim, a part of India’s Smart Cities initiative. He has worked as a Senior Project Architect with DAAT.DA, SWBI, and Polaris, and seen many projects from early conception to completion, where he worked on schools, towers, and townships. Some key projects include Lotus City, Noida; Gurgaon Township; JSS Tower, Bhubaneshwar; Marriott Fairfield, Katra, Crater Group Tower and Residential Complex in Nairobi; Thika Group City, Nairobi; Vasanth Valley School; Sahara City Homes; Pegasus Office and Car Showroom, New Delhi.

He has an interest in materials and construction technologies, merging local materials with contemporary building technology. With a system-based approach and a thorough understanding and knowledge of building engineering systems and structural systems, Subhradip integrates technological understanding into architecture throughout all project phases. Structural logic and material properties and relationships drive his process and methodology.

Subhradip’s works have been exhibited at India Habitat Centre, New Delhi as part of the Urban Habitat Forum and at Annual NASA Conventions. His awards include All India 2nd Prize for Le Corbusier Trophy Design. He has been National Finalists for high-profile architecture competitions like the Bhopal War Memorial and Ujjain Planetarium. He led the team for Noida Botanical Garden Competition and DDA Bus Stop Design Competition which were both finalists.

Vinay is leading the design and coordination of AUR’s largest institutional projects including Hi5 Sports Academy for marginalized kids outside of Mumbai and Techno India Manchester City World School in Kolkata. His methodical and precise approach to architecture is evident in the process and system-based framework followed in each project. Vinay has been educated as an architect in the USA and the UK. He holds a B.Arch from Iowa State University, USA and an M.Arch in Urban Design with distinction from the Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London. His Thesis at the UCL “Decomposing Temporalities” inquired into the underside of cities while exposing waste hidden in the periphery. Previously he worked in Digital Design and Architecture in the UK and India - Above in Colchester, UK, Designer Plans in Essex, UK, Edifice Consultants in Bangalore. He received the AIA Iowa Emerging Professionals Award in 2020, has been a competition finalist at NOMAS (National Organization for Minority Architecture Students), USA in 2019 and has been on the Dean’s List at Iowa State University for academic excellence.

Akash has led the design process with the Creative Director for several meaningful cultural, institutional, and hospitality projects which include museums, cultural centers, sports academy, boutique hotels and resorts. His key projects include Port Heritage Museum with Kolkata Port Trust, Ramgarh Haveli Restoration and Heritage Hotel in Shekhawati, Wellness Centre and Hotel in Santiniketan, Pavilion at Asia Horticulture Society and Indian Diaspora Heritage Centre in Kolkata. He has previously worked as an architect in Kolkata with QX Design on tea tourism in North Bengal and social projects in Sundarbans and in Hanoi with Takashi Niwa Architects on projects in Vietnam. He holds a B.Arch with distinction from Amity University, Kolkata where his thesis was nominated for COA National Awards for "Excellence in Architectural Thesis". His awards include the World Architecture Festival Competition ‘Isolation Transformed’ 2020. His journey in architecture bridges tradition and technology exploring grounded solutions based on theory. Growing up around the world’s largest temporary art festival, Durga Puja, watching as the city builds, adapts and transforms for millions of visitors, he realized the impact of culture and history on architecture and human behaviour early on.

Adarsh Remesh is an Architect at AUR's New Delhi office. He holds a B.Arch with Distinction from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. At AUR, he has been involved in the design of Techno India Business School, Manchester City Techno India World School in Kolkata, proposal for Trimbak Visitors’ Centre, and Paisley Restaurant in New York. Prior to joining AUR, as an architectural intern in Studio Lotus, he contributed to the design of the Piramal School of Leadership that was recognised as a finalist at the World Architecture Festival 2025, alongside several hospitality projects. He has also worked as a BIM consultant on a research initiative under the Ministry of Human Resource Development. Adarsh has earned multiple shortlisted recognitions in NASA trophies - serving as coordinator and mentor across ANDC, HUDCO, and GRIHA - and participated in the Solar Decathlon India 2023. He served as General President of SPA Executive Student Council, strengthening his abilities in institutional leadership.

Adarsh's fascination with architecture took root early in life, shaped by an admiration for structures that respond to and embrace their natural surroundings. This sensibility informs his solution-driven approach - one that weaves together contextual thinking, technical rigour, and digital innovation. He leads AUR's efforts in integrating artificial intelligence into design and visualisation workflows. His proficiency in computational design and BIM allows him to streamline and automate tasks across project delivery. He is co-leading the research and architectural mapping of Himalayan architecture across Sikkim and Nepal. He has spearheaded the redesign of AUR's website and the Virtual Kolkata Partition Museum's virtual platform.

Bishshayon Sen is an Architect at AUR’s New Delhi office. He holds a B.Arch with distinction from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. At AUR, Bishshayon has been involved in the design of a boutique hotel and wellness centre in Santiniketan and proposal for Trimbak pilgrim housing. He was involved in the later stages of the Port Heritage Museum and pre-design feasibility and research for the Indian Diaspora Centre, both projects on the banks of river Hooghly in Kolkata. Prior to joining AUR, he worked on luxury residential and small-scale educational projects as an architectural intern in Studio C+C, Goa. He has been a finalist for a landscape architecture competition organized by NASA (National Association of Students of Architecture) India.

Bishshayon leads photographic documentation efforts at AUR. His passion for photography and filmmaking has helped him develop a keen eye for composition and storytelling, which he incorporates into his architectural work. His interest in architecture and construction started at a young age, nurtured by the world around - from metro-rail construction around his home, to the intricately crafted ephemeral Durga Puja pandals — which is an integral part of his culture. He has developed his own understanding of the varying impacts architecture has on different people. He also has a deep respect for culture and history, and their intrinsic connection to architecture.

Haresh G is an Architect at AUR’s New Delhi office. He holds a B.Arch with distinction from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. At AUR, Haresh has been primarily involved in the design and coordination of Beyond Fashion Atelier in Kolkata. He has contributed to furniture design of Hi5 Sports Academy and interior spaces of Manchester City Techno India International School. He contributed to the later stage of the Port Heritage Museum. He has worked as an architectural intern at Studio Lotus and Ant Studio, gaining hands-on experience in site supervision and project management. He received a citation at the NASA CP Kukreja Competition 2023 and was a top 10 finalist at HUDCO (2022, 2023), GRIHA, and NASA ANDC. He also participated in the Solar Decathlon India for Net Zero Architecture.

Haresh leads efforts at AUR for AI integration and visualization standards across projects, and manages AUR's presence across social media platforms. Deeply invested in the intersection of architecture and technology, Haresh brings fluency in computational design tools including Rhino, Grasshopper, and Revit, alongside expertise in architectural visualization. He actively integrates AI into his workflow and is building a systematic team-wide AI framework. Sustainability remains central to Haresh’s design philosophy, through passive strategies, material performance, energy analysis, and net-zero frameworks. His dissertation, "50 Shades of Greenwashing" critically examined false narratives within the sustainability industry.

Rijul Agarwal is an Architect at AUR’s New Delhi office. She holds a B.Arch with distinction from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. At AUR, she is primarily engaged in the design, development, and coordination of the Manchester City Techno India World School in Kolkata. She has worked on the proposal for a multi-level car park in Trimbak. During her internship at Jana Urban Space, Bengaluru, she gained valuable exposure to the relationship between policy and urban systems, deepening her interest in contributing to conscious development at the city scale. She has represented SPA Delhi as Unit Secretary at the National Association of Students of Architecture (NASA) India.

Rijul brings a structured and well-managed approach to her work, contributing to project management initiatives at AUR. She takes festivals seriously and acts as the guardian for all social celebrations at AUR. Her academic and professional experiences have shaped a strong interest in social, institutional and urban architecture, driven by an understanding of how the built environment influences everyday life, learning, and growth. Before pursuing architecture, Rijul was engaged in creative practices of sketching, painting, and intricate paper mosaics, which continue to inform her design sensibility and attention to detail. Drawn to the discipline’s balance of logic and creativity, she views architecture as a versatile and diverse pursuit. She sees architecture as the stable constant in her life.

Samiya Zainab is an Architect at AUR's New Delhi office. She holds a B.Arch with distinction from the School of Planning and Architecture, New Delhi. She has a certificate in Intangible Cultural Heritage from INTACH (Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage) Heritage Academy. At AUR, Samiya has been involved in the design of Techno India Business School, Clubhouse at Lohia Plotted Housing in Mangupura, and research and mapping for the Himalayan architecture of Sikkim and Nepal. Prior to joining AUR, she undertook architectural documentation at INTACH, developing drawing archives for heritage structures. She has been a finalist at NASA (HUDCO and LIK), shortlisted for MSL Landscape Trophy, and received a Special Mention at Ethos Empower's Thesis Feature 2025. As Editor at SPA Delhi, she led the editing and production of the student publication, deepening her interest in storytelling and research.

Samiya leads research and publication efforts at AUR. Her research interests lie in adaptive reuse and conservation. Her thesis on a carpet weaving centre for the artisans of Mirzapur reflects her commitment to architecture that is grounded in community, craft, and living culture. She is co-leading GIS-based research at AUR on Himalayan vernacular houses, communities, and disaster histories. It is grounded in the belief that a building’s true narrative lies not only in its fabric, but in the lives it shelters and the forces it withstands. She believes architecture is a custodian of people's stories, interactions, and creativity; and hopes to make meaningful design accessible to those who need it most.

Farukh Khan is a Draftsperson at AUR’s New Delhi office. He holds an Advanced Diploma in Architectural Design from NSIC (National Small Industries Corporation) in Delhi. At AUR Farukh is responsible for managing CAD workflows and standards together with our Technical Director. Farukh is closely involved in setting up project drawing systems and organizes project submissions and issuances. Other than the Directors, Farukh is the longest working member of the AUR family and is invaluable to project development and production. He has been involved in every single AUR project over the years at critical stages.

Bawesh Pradhan is the Lead for Community Partnerships at AUR. His focus lies in facilitating community relationships with marginalised communities in India and Nepal. He holds an M.Phil. in Development Studies and an M.Sc. in Urban Policy and Governance from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Mumbai. He also holds a B. Arch from the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi and is a licensed architect in India. Bawesh has previously won the ACU Early Career Scholarship offered by the Commonwealth Foundation. He has presented his work at the International Forum on Urbanism in Jakarta, Indonesia. He received the Up-Skill Scotland Scholarship from the Scottish Funding Council to attend the Heriot-Watt Edinburgh Business School.

His interest in society stems from his work in the rural areas of Odisha (eastern India), focusing on indigenous people dependent on minor forest produce, and his documentation of migrant labourers in post-earthquake Gujarat (western India). His research interests lie in the confluence of urbanisation, everyday lives, and social-spatial change in/of Himalayan hill towns. He helps network with potential organisations for collaborations on sustainable and inclusive urban infrastructure projects in the fragile ecosystems of the Himalayan valley. Bawesh's reading in sociology, anthropology, and philosophy, and his education as an architect helps position him uniquely to address community challenges holistically.
